Founded in 1903, Buick is one of the oldest automotive brands still in existence, and in recent years, the automaker has emerged as a surprising presence in the global luxury landscape thanks to successful vehicles like the Buick LaCrosse and Buick Encore. Moving onward and upward, bigger things are in store for this luxury brand’s future with new products that fill the gaps below Cadillac and compete with brands like Acura, Lexus and Volvo.
A key to Buick’s recent success has been the introduction of the Buick LaCrosse. First introduced in 2005, this mid-size sedan has been a hot seller for Buick, and the car will be completely redesigned in 2016 with third-generation model that will further cement this car as Buick’s flagship. Another important model Buick has launched recently is the Buick Encore, which is a subcompact crossover based on the European Opel Mokka.
The LaCrosse and Encore have laid the foundation for Buick’s turnaround, but future cars like the Buick Envision and Buick Cascada will help continue this momentum. Made in China, the Envision will bring Buick into the ever-popular compact crossover segment, while the European-made Cascada will give Buick its first convertible since the Buick Reatta that was built from 1988 until 1991.
By the end of 2016, Buick will have a balanced lineup of three crossovers, three sedans and a convertible, and pricing will range from $21,065 for the Buick Verano up to $39,065 Buick Enclave.
